The total number of bases a batter accumulates on hits: 1 for single, 2 for double, 3 for triple, 4 for HR.
Full Definition
Total Bases counts the sum of bases gained on all hits: singles count as 1, doubles as 2, triples as 3, and home runs as 4. It's the numerator in slugging percentage (Total Bases / At-Bats). Total Bases is a popular prop market in MLB betting because it captures both contact frequency and power, rewarding hitters who get extra-base hits.
