Target Share

Percentage of a team's total passing targets directed at a specific receiver.

Full Definition

Target Share measures what percentage of a team's total pass targets go to a specific player. A 25%+ target share means roughly 1 in 4 pass plays are designed for that receiver. For receiving props (receptions, receiving yards), target share is the most important volume metric because targets are the opportunity — you can't catch passes if they're not thrown your way. Target share combined with team pass volume and the opposing defense's pass defense ranking creates a powerful prop analysis framework.

What's a good Target Share?

Above 25% is alpha WR1, 20-25% is strong starter, 15-20% is average, below 12% is low-volume.
