Passer Rating (NFL)
A composite score (0-158.3) measuring QB passing efficiency based on completions, yards, TDs, and INTs.
Full Definition
NFL Passer Rating combines four components — completion percentage, yards per attempt, touchdown percentage, and interception percentage — into a single score from 0 to 158.3 (perfect). While somewhat outdated compared to newer metrics like EPA, passer rating remains widely used because it's intuitive and easy to compare. For QB props, passer rating helps identify efficient passers who are likely to hit yards and TD overs, especially when facing weak pass defenses.
What's a good Passer Rating?
Above 100 is elite, 90-100 is above average, 80-90 is average, below 75 is poor.
